John Denver is a popular singer and songwriter who has touched a lot of people through his music. A lot of them were inspired by Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in affection with Colorado and then relocated to Aspen. Take Me Home Country Roads written by co-writer Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short stint in small folk bands. Danoff used Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the track, however Denver realized that it could become a smash hit when he heard an earlier version.
